Our Salmon Toy Breed Complete Food provides higher energy density and protein and oil levels, in line with the greater calorific requirements of smaller dogs. The better digestibility of fish makes it an ideal food for toy breeds as it allows them readily take advantage of the energy in our food.

The kibble is shaped and smaller, approximately half the size of our small-kibble complete food.

The high levels of marine sourced Omega 3 in our Salmon makes this an ideal product for coat and skin health and joint mobility. The easily digestible proteins from fish are also good for the digestion.

Fish4Dogs foods are grain free and use potato and pea as the carbohydrate providing a food that has a balanced GI and one that is less likely to cause dietary sensitivity.

High levels of Omega 3 are also beneficial for breeding bitches with benefits of omega oils being passed onto the unborn puppy.

'No Quibble Kibble' Guarantee - we are so confident that your dog will love the taste of Fish4Dogs Complete Food, that we will give you your money back if it doesn't.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fish4Dogs is the original champion of fish-based dog food.

Since 2004, we’ve been helping thousands of owners transition their dogs onto a fish-based diet. Our wide selection of dog food and dog treats for dogs of all ages (and sizes) contains high-quality ingredients and is packed full of nutrition to support their healthy development.

You can learn more about fish-based diets, including the many positives of transitioning your dog to one, here: Benefits of Fish - For Every Stage of Loving Them

Although they all fall under the same small category, different toy dog breeds will have differing levels of food intake. This will all depend on the usual factors, like their age, weight, energy, metabolism, and food preferences. For a clearer idea on how much a toy dog should eat, see our feeding calculator.

While it isn’t a necessity to feed smaller dogs a more specialised diet, there can be benefits in doing so. Smaller dogs burn calories faster than larger ones, meaning that they can reap greater benefits from foods that are more calorie dense to keep their weight in check.

What’s more, the smaller proportions of their stomachs and mouths mean that smaller kibble sizes are more digestible for smaller toy dogs. It’s also accepted that small dogs live longer than larger ones, which can mean they’re likely to develop long-term health issues that their food can counteract.

Small dogs can eat both wet and dry food. Wet food is easier for them to swallow compared to large pieces of kibble, but smaller kibble sizes can circumvent this.

At Fish4Dogs, we’re passionate about fish, and fully believe in its benefits for dogs of all sizes, including toy dogs. Whether it’s salmon or white fish, fish-based dog food contains all the necessary nutrients your toy dog needs for their healthy development, with optimised kibble sizes to help their digestion.
